I am an "accidental" insurance agent. I got my degree in History and a Minor in Communication. I started my post college career as a history teacher and high school basketball and football coach.
But that changed after a few years, and I became a salesperson manager in shoes, then physician recruitment. About 20 years ago I engaged in the health and life insurance marketplace, where I have stayed. I have used my communication minor to success in understanding the needs of people that use my services.
People want to be understood at where they are in their life, and my attitude is always the same: "How I can help you?", using knowledge of health and life insurance products. I am very clear that I am not a one stop shop for all insurance needs, but I have people I trust that I can refer them to for the areas they identify beyond my expertise. It leads to a trust factor that evolves into years of service to largely self-employed businesses, such as farmers or mechanics. It gives me great pleasure to receive a call from a new customer who says, "So and So gave me your name". Salt of the Earth types who desire straight talk and simple honesty.
I work in Central Illinois, with a base from the Mississippi River on the west to the Indiana border on the East. When I am not working in insurance, I love to write devotionals for friends to read, and read historical fiction. I am the proud husband to a wonderful wife of 37 years. The father of two adult children who live in the Chicago suburbs. And a proud grandfather.
I love to communicate with new clients and hear their stories. And see how I might be able to help meet your needs in insurance as well!

As a licensed insurance agent* with Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company (Mutual of Omaha), I work hard to:
- Help young families protect their family and property in case of an unexpected and potentially devastating disability or death.
- Help professionals plan for a long retirement, so they don't run out of money yet still have the lifestyle they desire.
- Help those close to retirement prepare for the effects of healthcare expenses including long-term care and unexpected illnesses.
- Help small business owners protect their life's work for their family and employees.
